A New Pillar of Ashihara Karate Has Been Born
In June 2025, Ashihara Kaikan proudly appointed Kiyoshi Takemura Shihan, based in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, as the sixth official Shihan in the world.
In Ashihara Karate, the title of “Shihan” is not given simply for high technical ability. It is the ultimate recognition of decades of dedication, character, contribution to the organization, and leadership.
About Shihan Kiyoshi Takemura
Born on February 5, 1951, in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime, Japan
Entered Ashihara Kaikan in 1980; established the Iyo Mishima Branch the same year
Has devoted over 40 years to student development and the growth of Ashihara Karate
Still demonstrates sharp and refined techniques admired by all generations
Karateka from both Japan and overseas visit to train under his guidance
“There may be no one who has loved Ashihara Karate as deeply as he has.” — This is the shared voice of his students and fellow instructors.
